Leagues and Clinics

After you've become a member, you will need to sign up separately for each league you would like to participate in. League registration is available online during the first 3 weeks of September for both of our curling leagues. Social Draw Curling can accomodate later registrations.

Clinics are available at the start of the season, with 2 mandatory sessions for all new curlers. Clinics start in late September and are offered on a variety of dates and times for you to choose from over the course of a 2 week period.

BGCC Has 2 Types Of Curling Leagues To Play In:

Social Draw Curling

Our Social Draw leagues are the perfect fit for any Curlers looking to play the sport who love to meet lots of new people, just have fun, or are too busy to commit to playing for the whole season. These leagues operate using 4 different 5-week long series'. For every series, our Curling Comittee puts together new balanced teams that consist of both new and experienced curlers to keep the game fair and balanced while also allowing you the opportunity to get to know new people. BGCC offers you the option of participating in Men's, Ladies', and Mixed Social Draw leagues. Each series has a games fee for that league, typically ranging from $15-30 (per series, per person). This fee goes towards prizes and other league expenses.

  • The first series started on: October 15
  • The second series starts on: November 19
  • The third series starts on: January 4
  • The final series starts on: February 21

Going to be busy this upcoming series but still looking to curl?

Sign up as a Spare! Rather than committing to the 5-weeks that make up a series and fussing with finding replacements for the games you are unable to make, substitute for players who cannot participate in their scheduled games. In our experience, Spares are always needed and you would be able to play as often as you would like.

Competitive CYOT (Choose Your Own Team) Curling

These year-long leagues have you playing with the same team in a compeitive atmosphere throughout the BGCC Curling Season. The season gets wrapped up with a fierce playoff schedule. The winners of each season are imortallized in BGCC history on plaques on the walls of our curling facility. BGCC offers you the option of participating in the following CYOT leagues: Men's, Ladies', Mixed Ladder, and Open. Each league has its own games fee.

Curling is a wonderful sport and a great way for children 6+ to be physically active, learn to work in a team environment, and make friends. Our progam's goal is to help each child learn the game by providing them with a safe and fun environment. Each week, our Junior Curlers are taught a lesson on a paricular curling fundamental which is followed by a game of curling!

BGCC Offers:

  • Wee Rocker (WR) Curling, for children ages 6-7
    • This program requires 1 parent on the ice to assist the WR Coach and engage their child in the fun games. Don't worry - the parent requires no previous curling experience.
    • Fee: $128 + HST (includes a $20 games fee)
  • Little Rocker (LR) Curling, for children ages 8-12
    • Fee: $200 + HST (includes a $20 games fee)
  • Bantam Curling, for children 13+ (only if there's enough interest)
    • Fee: $200 + HST (includes a $20 games fee)

The WR and LR Junior Curlers take over our Curling Facility on Sundays between 2:00-3:30 pm, from the 3rd Sunday in October until the 3rd Sunday in March. If there's a Bantam league, they will have ice time between 11:45-1:45 pm.

To sign your child up to join our Junior Curlers, please complete the Junior Curling Application and provide a VOID cheque for PAP to Tami Fisher at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

What Equipment Does My Child Need To Curl?

    • Hockey, bicycle, skateboard, or other types of helmets are acceptable
  • Brushes and step sliders will be provided, along with grippers for their shoes to assist with on-ice safety
  • Layered athletic clothing that fits loosely is encouraged
  • Junior Curlers are allowed to wear non-logoed sweatpants while on the ice
    • Blue jeans may be worn in the Curling Lounge but not on the ice

Personal Club Account

Junior Curlers get set up with a personal club account that the Curling fees and/or purchases are billed to. Pre-authorized banking will be set up during the application process for payment of Club accounts. Parents can use their Junior Curler's club account to purchase Curling Proshop items, food, or beverages during Sunday afternoons. P.S. - The Little Rockers absolutely love our hot chocolate and french fries!

Volunteers Needed

We will need the enthusiasm and assistance of volunteers through-out the year. Whether on or off the ice, from pouring hot chocolate to helping organize our Junior's New Year's and closing parties, we can always use the help of volunteers to ensure the success of this program.
